Pioneering Innovators
Recognition Robotics was founded in 2008 to revolutionize machine vision technology with the ultimate goal of advancing toward autonomous, intelligent visual recognition and production.
Recognition Robotics is an independent company producing category-shifting visual recognition technology that defines future manufacturing’s new normal. With a growing list of patented technologies, Recognition Robotics is the high-value provider of breakthrough, quick set-up productivity enhancements that increase the profitability of any automated line or process.
Technology: CortexRecognition
With the hand-eye coordination of CortexRecognition, automation is redefined. The software behind RR’s breakthrough visual guidance system.
A category-shifter, it redefines the automated process by giving blind robots true sight and hand-eye coordination. Paired with the hardware systems, Robeye and RAIO, it quickly upgrades any automated line. Developed to mimic the human visual process, this software uses a unique algorithm that gives production robots the ability to view, recognize and locate pre-determined parts. In any situation where an object needs to be grabbed using a robotic arm, the software can be taught to see it, recognize it, then grab it every time—no matter the object’s position or orientation. With CortexRecognition, Recognition Robotics is the first to solve some of robotics’ longstanding challenges, including the ability to recognize thousands of unique items and perform random part picking and sorting.
Products:
When every second counts, Robeye® is Recognition Robotics fastest and most powerful visual guidance system.
Robeye
- simplifies line feeding
- reduces production time
- increases flexibility
- quick and easy setup
- robotic guidance
- uses off the shelf components for easy repair
Robeye is a turnkey hardware-software solution for 3D Robotic Guidance designed for high industrial reliability.
The core of Robeye is visual recognition and guidance software that mimics the way we see. We, as humans, are not required to use a 3D scanner or stereo in order to understand our visual environment, so why should our robots be? Robeye uses a simple 2D camera, however it is capable of guiding an industrial robot in a full 6 degrees of freedom (X Y Z Rx Ry Rz). The process is no more complex than clicking the teach button and erasing unwanted outlines.
RAIO
Robeye All In One (RAIO) is a sensor for 3D Robotic Guidance designed for high industrial reliability.
The core of RAIO is visual recognition and guidance software that mimics the way we see. As humans we are not required to use a 3D scanner nor stereo in order to understand our visual environment—this is now the same for robots. RAIO uses a 2D image sensor and powerful recognition software to guide industrial robots in 2.5D, 3.5D and full 6 degrees of freedom (X Y Z Rx Ry Rz). The simple setup process with auto tool finder on the taught object allows quick and easy robotic guidance implementation.
Now with the lightweight, small size of RAIO, the power of CortexRecognition can be connected to almost any robot for unlimited application and almost any budget.
Small. Smart. Attachable. RAIO is the capability of Robeye® in a self-contained unit.
Automate your airframe drilling and fastening process with Lucana Aero, our innovative visual guidance system.
Lucana Aero
Airframe drilling & fastening—automated.
Create your most productive line ever with our patented visual guidance technology Lucana Aero. The industry’s first system to enable the automation of drilling and fastening, Lucana Aero helps you reduce human error, improve workplace safety and increase speed while being easily integrated with no engineering needed.
Using a sensor mounted inside a drill head, Lucana Aero guides robotic systems to precisely normalize to a surface, find a hole center, find a fastener center, or measure a hole ID (inside diameter) and countersink OD (outside diameter). The sensor can also aid robotic performance for global alignment to the airframe.
Lucana Oculus
Lucana OCULUS is a laser profile sensor for 3d robotic guidance designed for high industrial reliability.
The core of Lucana Caius is a powerful software that enables users to create advanced robotic guidance applications with point and click interface.
Lucana sensor utilizes Liquid Lens technology that enables depth measurement range never seen before.
Lucana OCULUS is an extremely lightweight sensor providing accurate measurements, specially tailored for guiding robots. Just supply 24V power and an Ethernet cable to the Computing Unit and your robot can immediately start communicating with the sensor.
The Computing Unit has a touch enabled screen that allows easy interaction with the Lucana Caius Software. Some robot controllers can be computing units themselves.
Additionally, multiple sensors can be seamlessly connected to the same Computing Unit and their measurement results easily combined with a spreadsheet interface.
