When choosing the GateManager cloud server you will receive an isolated domain on the GateManager M2M server and benefit from central hosting and backup by Secomea.
Basic account included in Secomea Starter package
A FREE basic GateManager administrator account on a Secomea hosted server, or on an M2M server hosted by one of Secomeas distributor partners is included in the Secomea Starter package. The FREE basic account gives you access to connect up to 100 SiteManagers, install two LinkManager floating licenses and create an unlimited number of LinkManager user accounts.
GateManager in detail
The GateManager operates as a termination point for all LinkManagers and SiteManagers. All connections and the encrypted traffic between LinkManagers and devices controlled by SiteManagers are handled by the GateManager, which also logs all events.
The Secomea server farm is located in Denmark at a 1GB Internet connection. This ensures you an up time of 99.6%, which is achieved by the following measures:
- The Secomea hosting center is fully virtualized based on ESXi and SAN backbone controlled by V-Motion
- Battery and generator power backup on all equipment
- INERGEN based cooling and fire extinguishing infrastructure
- “Building in building” site fencing with alarms and immediate guard notification, and access by card and iris scan
- 1 Gbps fiber ring directly to the Danish Internet eXhange point (DIX)
- Hosting center has a 100% Green Profile, according to RECS International (Renewable Energy Certificate System) where all Wh originate from either Danish wind turbines or Norwegian hydroelectric power stations
- Server IP addresses are fully controlled by Secomea as a registered RIPE member
LinkManager – Client
LinkManager Client enables Programming Engineers to remotely work and operate their industrial equipment just like being on site, reducing travel costs and providing faster support The LinkManager is designed for remote programming and servicing of industrial equipment. Apart from approving access similar to VPN, it also simulates a virtual phonebook due to concept of “device agents”.
The LinkManager displays a view of all your sites and SiteManagers and each device will be shown with the name given when initially configured, its type and whether it is online or not. Just locate the device you want to connect to, click it, and you are online with it. The LinkManager installs a virtual adapter and thus require running on Windows. But it works fine alongside VPN clients and is designed for both 32 and 64 bit windows, and even runs inside a virtual machine such as VMWare, ESXi or HyperV. Unique about the LinkManager is its ability to not only connect to UDP and TCP based equipment. LinkManager includes a virtual COM port driver that makes it capable of connection to Serial equipment that is connected to the SiteManager at the factory.
Furthermore, the LinkManager will make a USB redirect if connecting to an agent that represents a USB device connected to a SiteManager at a factory.

LinkManager – Mobile Client
LinkManager Mobile is a viewing license used for monitoring and operating equipment such as Web-CAMs and HMIs. It supports both PC and mobile devices such as iPhone, iPAD and Android smart phones. Where the original LinkManager is intended for remote programming and requires installation on a Windows PC, the LinkManager Mobile is designed for accessing web enabled applications such as a custom Web GUI of a PLC, a HMI or a WebCam.
Additionally, LinkManager Mobile can establish connection to the desktop of equipment running Linux or Windows. You simply connect to the device with LinkManager Mobile, and subsequently you can start a VNC or MS Remote Desktop client (RDP) and remote control the device. Since the LinkManager Mobile can run on an iPhone, iPad or Android device, the product is ideally suited for end-users that need to remotely access their own equipment for monitoring status or perform typical operator tasks.
LinkManager Mobile supports two factor authentication login and encrypts all connections, thus ensuring uncompromised security. LinkManager Mobile user accounts can be created for free in the GateManager Portal when buying a Secomea start package. Such an account allows monitoring of status of equipment and viewing of event logs. Applying a LinkManager Mobile “license” to the account, will further allow you to connect to the Web GUI and remote desktop of the equipment.
