Cutting the Ribbon for the The Purdue School of Engineering Technology Dauch Advanced Manufacturing Laboratories
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The School of Engineering Technology at Purdue Polytechnic Institute dedicated four new smart manufacturing facilities on the West Lafayette campus. Purdue says the facilities create the most expansive learning ecosystem of its kind in the country.
The facilities are part of a broader effort at Purdue that dates back to 2018 to create a new degree program in smart manufacturing with the goal of preparing the next generation workforce and bridge the growing skills gap in the manufacturing industry.
Allied Automation in partnership with Teradyne (Universal Robots and Mobile Industrial Robots) provided hardware which is instrumental in the Smart Learning Factory. The factory is designed with the Smart Manufacturing mindset, which features activities between humans, machines, products and processes, while using system interconnectivity, intelligence and real-time data.
